Product basics
What is Lickety?
Lickety is a live coordination platform for last-mile and regional freight. Every load is visible from the moment a driver claims it through final delivery — color-coded against the actual delivery window, in real time, across the driver, carrier, shipper, and receiver. We don't replace your ELD or your TMS; we light up the last 30 minutes that those systems can't.
Who uses Lickety?
Four roles, on three surfaces:
- Drivers — mobile app only.
- Receivers (warehouses, fulfillment centers) — web portal and mobile admin app.
- Shippers (origin companies) — web portal and mobile admin app.
- Carrier admins (trucking organization managers) — web portal and mobile admin app.
Most customer organizations use at least two of these. See the glossary for full definitions.
What's the difference between Lickety and a TMS?
A TMS handles planning, contracts, billing, and post-mortem. Lickety handles the live driver-to-dock coordination — claiming loads, real-time status colors, in-app messaging, payment holds at the dock. Most customers run both.
What's the difference between Lickety and an ELD?
An ELD answers "is the truck moving." Lickety answers "is the load going to make the window." We compute distance remaining vs. window remaining and color-code it green / yellow / red so everyone — driver, dispatcher, receiver, shipper — sees the same answer.
Sign-up & access
How do I sign up?
If you're a driver: download the Lickety mobile app from the App Store or Play Store and sign up with your email, password, and the Vendor ID issued by your carrier.
If you're a shipper, receiver, or carrier admin: visit lickety.io/signup. After your account is created, sign in at lickety.io/signin.
Where do I get my Vendor ID?
From your dispatcher or fleet manager — it's typically the same identifier your carrier already uses for you. If you don't have one yet, email support@lickety.io and we'll help you get set up.
I forgot my password.
Visit lickety.io/reset-password, enter the email address on your account, and we'll send you a reset link. Portal sessions expire after 8 hours of inactivity.
Does Lickety work outside the US?
Today, Lickety is built for US freight operations. If you're operating cross-border or outside the US and want to discuss a fit, get in touch via the contact form.
Role capabilities
What can a shipper do in Lickety?
Shippers have full access to their outbound loads: create, edit, cancel, monitor status colors, copy a shareable tracking link, and chat with the driver assigned to each load. Both the web portal and the mobile admin app cover the entire outbound flow. See the shipper guide for the full walkthrough.
What can a receiver do?
Receivers manage their inbound queue: create new appointments (manually or via CSV import), accept or decline shipper-tendered loads, monitor inbound status, share tracking links with their own customers, and see which drivers are en route. See the receiver guide.
What can a carrier admin do?
Carrier admins manage their driver fleet: onboard drivers via Vendor ID, view fleet-wide appointments, monitor each driver's status colors and history, message drivers in-app, and oversee the carrier's company-side data. See the carrier admin guide.
What can a driver do?
Drivers see every available appointment within their carrier, claim with one tap, optionally join the queue for a load, confirm pickup and delivery, send and receive in-app messages, and see live status colors against the delivery window. See the driver guide.
Real-time tracking
How often does the tracking update?
Status colors recalculate every ~30 seconds while a load is active. Driver location updates whenever the mobile app reports a new GPS reading.
What do the status colors mean?
- Green — on track. The driver is on pace for the delivery window at typical highway speeds.
- Yellow — at risk. Margin is tightening; small delays could miss the window.
- Red — endangered. The driver receives a push notification automatically. The dashboard shows the same color to everyone watching the load.
- Grey — idle. No active appointment, or tracking isn't currently running.
Full definitions in the glossary.
Can I share a tracking link with my customer?
Yes. Every appointment has a public, no-login tracking URL. From the appointment detail page in the portal, click Copy tracking link and paste it into an email or text. The recipient sees the same status color you do — no Lickety account required.
Does Lickety track drivers when they're off-duty?
No. Driver location is only broadcast while an appointment is in transit. Lickety isn't a 24/7 personal tracker.
Drivers and claiming
How does a driver claim a load?
The driver opens the app, sees the list of available appointments within their carrier, and taps Claim. The load is now assigned to them; everyone watching it sees the driver's name.
What if multiple drivers want the same load?
Loads are claimed first-come-first-served. If a driver isn't ready to claim immediately but wants to be in line, they can join the queue for the load and be notified when it's available.
Can a driver release a claimed load?
Yes — one tap. The load goes back to the available pool, and other drivers in the same carrier can claim it. Plans change; we don't punish a driver for that.
Money
How does payment work?
Lickety integrates with Relay Payments. When a driver claims a paid load, we automatically place a Relay payment hold on the load. The driver confirms pickup, delivers, and the receipt is filed back to Relay automatically. The driver knows they'll be paid before they roll the truck.
What if a load doesn't have a payment?
Loads with a $0 rate are fully supported — they run through the entire claim / track / confirm flow without invoking Relay. Lickety doesn't force the payment integration on you.
Do I need a Relay account to use Lickety?
Only if you want the payment-hold flow. The rest of the platform — appointments, tracking, status colors, messaging, tendering — works without Relay.
Trust & compliance
Where is my data hosted?
Lickety runs on AWS infrastructure in the United States. All connections to our portal and APIs are encrypted in transit (TLS).
Is my data shared with other customers?
No. Receivers, shippers, and carrier admins are scoped to their own company — no other customer's data is visible to them.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes. Email support@lickety.io with your account email and we'll work through it with you.
What about GDPR / CCPA / privacy law?
See our privacy policy for the full picture. For data deletion or access requests, email privacy@lickety.io.
Support
How do I get help?
Email support@lickety.io. If you're already signed in to the portal, the Support link in the top nav takes you to a contact form pre-filled with your account info.
How do I report a bug?
Same channel — support@lickety.io. If you can include the appointment ID, the time, and a screenshot, we'll have everything we need to reproduce.
Is there a status page?
Not publicly today. If you suspect an outage, email support@lickety.io and we'll respond directly.
